This type of dish according to some Peranakans was used only for making religious offerings. It has a pronounced wavy rim, is thick & sturdily potted & has a large footrim. It is stamped with the red K’ai-shu script of Kuang-hsu on base. The stem dish has green background & features a phoenix & peony. The inside rim has a pink background and depicts the Eight Buddhist Emblems encircled within 2 red lines. The outer side is a celedon colour & features 3 floral sprays, & a pattern around the foot rim. Has a minor chip on the back rim. Showing some wear marks.
