Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD) large bearer that would have been a set of 4 that carried a platform on their shoulders which held gifts for the deceased. There is a loop on the left shoulder of the figure where small poles would have been inserted. The figure is in fine condition. Part of the garment is green glazed with the remaining part being painted black. The facial design is clear with black paint highlighting his hair & a touch of red on the lips (retouched facial detail). His hat has remnants of brown paint pigment still evident. His hair & shoes are painted black. Other than wear from being buried, the details are fine with no serious faults.
