Beautiful Chinese red lacquered basket has a scene on the top, in gold & black on a red background, with 5 figures, one on a horse followed by another figure approaching a building with 3 figures inside. Brass latch & trim around the center & base. Latch has snapped off & is inside container. Black & gold detailing at base. 19th century. Very good condition Some minor cracks & signs of wear as to be expected for its age.
