Marilyn Patton
For me, painting is the opportunity to create works of peace and beauty. I work primarily in oils and I prefer painting on oil primed canvas. Still life, landscapes and portraits are the three general subjects I enjoy painting.
I am inspired by the effects of light and I love painting still life and landscapes that are full of colour and contrast. I love to paint portraits that show the personality and emotion expressed by the sitter. I paint at home and at Deloraine Creative Studios where I have a working studio.
My paintings are primarily considered to be in the tradition of realism and are in public and private collections in Australia and in the United States.
