Margot Baird, director & founder of Back Room Studios, has a diverse back ground in Contemporary Art & a special interest in Asian Antiques.

She brings with her a wealth of experience as an artist, art educator, contemporary art & Asian antiques collector, interior designer & curator.

Margot is an internationally exhibited visual artist having had solo exhibitions in 4 continents as well as copious group exhibitions. She is represented in collections both nationally & internationally.

 A collector of Contemporary Art & Asian Antiques (having lived in Asia for about 10 years) and she has worked professionally as an Interior Designer in both residential & commercial projects.

A background as an Art Lecturer, Margot was Lecturing & Head of School of Art at La Salle College of the Arts Singapore.

In 2012 Margot established Gallery Pejean in Launceston Tasmania working as Contemporary Art Curator and Director, to operate the highly reputed space for 11 ½ years. She sold the business in May 2023.

Her latest venture Back Room Studios which is a fusion of Contemporary Art & Asian Antiques combines her two passions.
